Edman’s Angling Adventures Lake of the Woods fishing guide service was founded by Allen and Scott Edman, third-generation guides who grew up in the Northwest Angle area of Lake of the Woods and have been guiding their clients to amazing fishing experiences for over 30 years. Allen and Scott are licensed U.S. Coast Guard captains, and are professionally insured and licensed to guide in the Minnesota and Canadian waters of Lake of the Woods. Allen and Scott take a team approach to guiding, sharing patterns, spots, and knowledge with each other. It’s our goal to be ahead of the curve, keeping you on the most productive patterns and catching fish other boats have yet to discover.

Scott is the ultimate “thinking man’s” guide, constantly experimenting with new locations, and angling presentations, helping pioneer many of the fishing patterns and presentations used by anglers on the Northwest Angle. Not content to just catch fish in an area, he needs to know why they are there and what other spots might be attracting fish. His 30+ years of guiding experience is one of the main reasons our guides are locked onto the hottest bites day after day. A day with Scott will make you a better angler, and you will have a great time as you learn the secrets that make his boat a fish magnet. A graduate of the University of North Dakota with a masters from St. Thomas, Scott also teaches Industrial Technology classes at Warroad High School.

An explorer at heart, Allen enjoys finding new places to catch fish among the 14,000 islands of Lake of the Woods. With over 30 years of guiding under his belt, Allen has many stories to share of his experiences, and the history and ecology of the Northwest Angle area. Having fun while fishing is the name of the game! Although Allen has been a licensed educator for 16 years, he is a natural-born teacher that has been showing people how to fish his whole life! Come fishing with Allen and he will ensure you a great time fishing and learning about Lake of the Woods! A graduate of the University of North Dakota with a Masters Degree from the University of St. Thomas, Allen also teaches 6th grade Minnesota History and Science at Warroad.
